It's an old adage in fashion that you have to know and understand a style rule before you can break it and make it your own. However, it's always a good idea to follow the dress code for the event you're attending so you don't feel uncomfortable because of your clothing choice.

Jacket and pants

At Grade A Copenhagen we love the two-piece set. That is, where the pants and jacket are not the same color.

This gives you many opportunities to put your personal touch on the outfit and leaves you with many options when it comes to combining the different pieces in your wardrobe.

This dress code has many uses, as it can be dressed up or down depending on the clothing choice. For example, if you add a tie, it already has a more formal look, which works perfectly as a substitute for the classic suit.

The dress code is perfect for more informal occasions such as summer parties, graduation parties or christenings.

Suit

Dress code suits are usually divided into a "light" or "dark" suit. The light one is characterized by being blue, gray or patterned - perhaps even in bold colors. It is generally used for more informal occasions, as was the case with the dress code jacket and trousers. The dark suit is typically in a dark blue or dark gray color and is considered more formal. It is therefore perfect for the wedding.

The black suit, on the other hand, is considered by many to be reserved for funerals.

Tuxedo

When it comes to tuxedos, there are not many options. The dress code is practically a uniform. The tuxedo should consist of a black or midnight blue tuxedo jacket with black silk-covered lapels, matching trousers with longitudinal silk braids on the outside of the legs. Underneath is a white tuxedo shirt and a black bow tie. Wear a tuxedo if you are going to special events such as a theater premiere, gala or a large-scale castle wedding.
