A used alternative
It is precisely with quality in mind that 36-year-old Jesper Svarer Nissen got the idea for a new webshop with second-hand clothing, Grade A Copenhagen.
"We have developed a concept that is intended to be a real and competitive alternative to buying new. I have a great passion for clothes, but when I had to build up my own wardrobe when I got a job as an advisor at Christiansborg, I could see that I could choose between buying a lot of poor quality or a little of much better quality," he says.
"It made me wonder why no one has created a great concept for second-hand clothing for men, where they can buy good brands of great quality and at the same time help solve a climate problem."
The overall concept is that you shouldn't compromise on the quality of your purchase because you're buying used clothing, he says.
»We believe that this is what is needed. We wash, dry clean and repair the clothes and pack them neatly when they are to be sent. You should give the customer a feeling "Because it's as good as new," he explains, adding that you also have the right to return it.
Grade A Copenhagen still only sells men's clothing.
"Den blå Avis produces an annual index, and you can see that only 17 percent of men buy used clothes. We would like to help change that," says Jesper Svarer Nissen.
